Star Student!

It was Jonah's turn to be the STAR STUDENT at Preschool today. We made a poster for him to take to school to show all the kids. I printed up a bunch of pictures and let Jonah choose what ones he wanted to put on. He loves school so much and it's so fun to hear him tell us all the cool things he learns. We love his teachers and have already put Josie on the waiting list to get into his preschool for 2010!


One more thing...
Happy Birthday to my Sweetheart Mark. Eleven years ago today, I remember coming home from school and making a birthday cake to take to Mark's house for a party that his Mom was throwing for him. I even remember sitting at the table in his kitchen with my best friend Kristin, and giving all of the other girls that were there dirty looks! I didn't want any other girls to be at his house! It amazes me to think about everything that we've been through, and how we've been able to grow up together. This is exactly how I pictured my life, and I have been picturing it with Mark ever since I fell in love with him and we were just 16. I love you Sweetie, and hope you have a great Birthday!

Monsters can't get ya when you're in a fort!

Poor little Jonah gets so scared in his room when it's bedtime. He usually ends up on our floor by the middle of the night. Our "fort" idea worked for a couple of nights and he stayed the whole night in his room---apparently Monsters can't go in forts! Bet ya didn't know that! Learn somethin new every day!
ps- is that the saddest looking fort you've ever seen? We aren't too creative when it comes to that stuff!

Keepin' the kiddies entertained...

I'll do just about anything to buy myself a few minutes to get some things done. Lately, Josie has been GLUED to my leg. I can't do anything without her within inches of me- and I can't even THINK about going anywhere without her permission, (which she rarely gives me) -so when I realized that she had a hard time getting out of this laundry basket, I decided to put both kids in them and put them in front of the tv! Brilliant, right? She quickly taught herself how to get out, and that was the end of that... but I think I got a good 15 minutes to do some things around the house, so I considered my idea a success!

tHe LiGhTs ArE uP!

Mark took advantage of the nice weather last Saturday and put our Christmas lights up! He talked Jonah into getting on the roof with him, I know... why did I let him do that? Jonah felt like such a big kid helping Dad. He was so proud of himself for being so brave. I know you're not supposed to turn your lights on until after Thanksgiving, but I think it makes my house look cute so I'm turning them on now!



I tried to get a picture of Josie outside that day, but she thought it was a fun game to not look at me when I'd say her name. What a stinker!

A trip to the Fire Station

Jonah is loving his preschool so much. His teacher is awesome and he really is learning a ton of stuff. His class went to the Fire Station a few weeks ago. It was his very first field trip so I volunteered to help. The Firemen were so funny with the kids. They had them laughing so hard. It was a really fun trip for him. On the way back to preschool I had one of the kid's from Jonah's class in my car. Well, he was saying that his stomach hurt really bad which I was getting a little nervous about. The second that we pulled into his preschool, the kid opened the door and threw up everywhere! I was extremely glad that he opened the door so that none of it was in my car. Can you imagine how awful that would be? Poor kid.

I'm a little late posting these pictures. Jonah was on the funnest little fall soccer team. They were the ORANGE CRUSH and were actually pretty good! They won almost all of their games (they don't really keep score, but we do!) and Jonah had a blast. I just loved dressing him up in his tiny shin guards and tiny cleats.

Husband Tag!

1.Where did you two meet?Copper Hills High School... we were in 10th grade English together.
2. How long did you date before you got married? About 5 years (if you include the 2 he was on his mission.)
3.How long have you been married? 5 years, 4 months, and 22 days!
4.What does he do to surprise you? He's always up to something... either little get-aways, love notes for me to read when I wake up, or teasing me by calling and saying he'll be home extra late, and then walking in the house right then.
5.Favorite feature about him? He has such straight, white teeth! I guess 4 years of braces will do that for ya.
6.Favorite quality about him? He's such a hard worker... always trying to make more money for us! He's also really loyal. I know I can trust him 100%
7.Does he have a nick name for you? Babe, Linz, Sweetie, I can't remember the last time he called me Lindsey.
8. What is his favorite color? Cougar Blue
9.What is his favorite food? He likes a good steak with potatoes, or mexican food.
10.What is his favorite sport? He likes watching football, and likes playing golf and basketball.
11.Who said i love you first? I don't really remember. We used to say it joking all the time when we were first hanging out, so it sorta just happened I think.
12.When and where was your first kiss? At my house, outside my garage, after a high school basketball game in February of 1998.
13.Favorite thing to do as a couple? We like watching our favorite tv shows together at night, we like going on trips (with and without kids), we like going out to eat, and going to BYU football games together. We love hanging out with our kids too, but there's something about just being the two of us that's so much fun. We're always laughing.
14.Whats a hidden talent that he has? He's a good cook when he tries. I love it when he makes me food.
15.Where was your first date? We went to Chili's after a basketball game. I didn't order anything because I didn't want to look like a pig, (how lame is that?) so he got me a shake and I didn't even touch it. The poor little 16 year old had to pay for it, and I didn't even touch it. I was such a brat! I guess I thought that he would think I was fat or something if I ate it. I think our first "real" date was going to the 1998 New Year's dance at Copper Hills.
16.How did he propose? When I was coaching cheer at Bingham, we had our Varsity Ball at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. We were all dressed up, and he wanted to walk around Temple Square before heading over to the banquet. He asked some Sister Missionaries if they would take our picture in front of the Temple... he said he wanted us to pose for the picture and pretend that he was proposing. I thought it was lame, but then when he got on his knee, he pulled the ring out, and the Sister Missionaries took the picture. I was smiling so big! And my response to when he said "Will you marry me?" was "Shut up!" I was really surprised because he told me that he didn't have any money for a ring for a long time since he had only been home from his mission for 6 weeks! It's fun to look at that picture and remember how surprised and excited I was.
17.What do you most admire most about him? His heart. He is such a good husband and daddy. He's always telling us how much he loves us and showing us too. I honestly feel so lucky to have him for my husband. I love him more than anything and I'm so glad he's mine.

Gone Fishin'

Mark and I took the kids up to the pond in Herriman to do a little fishing for Family Home Evening a while ago. I actually hate everything about fishing, and I'm pretty sure Josie is the same as me. Us girls just sat in our chairs with our bags of Cheetos and let the boys do the work. Jonah was really happy because they caught 3 fish that night!

We went to the Petting Zoo at Gardner Village with Nick and Karly and their cute little boys Lukas and Slade. Jonah and Lukas had such a blast together. Slade and Josie were just happy to be pushed around outside in their strollers. I love the "group picture" where we were trying so hard to get our kids to look at the camera and smile. This is the best one we got- the sun is in Jonah's eyes, Slade's trying to get away, Lukas is trying so hard to hold him still, and Jos just looks confused.

I just about died when I saw these little shoes for Josie. They're the Little Squeakers Shoes, and I just love them. You might think it could get a little annoying hearing that squeak every time she takes a step, but I actually like her to wear them because I always know where she's at. It was a silly purchase, but I think it was worth it. They're so dang cute!

Remember the old days...

Allison planned such a fun "mini-cheer reunion" for us last week. We had a blast watching old cheer videos (which made us laugh and laugh), we ate good food, yummy treats, looked at old pictures, did a little witch craft with the ring on a string to find out how many more kids we're all going to have (we're up to 17 when Diana has her baby) and laughed! We'll have to do it again soon.

The best day ever...

AND GUESS WHO FORGOT HER CAMERA? I was so mad at myself all night for not bringing it! Thank heavens for my friend Lindsay who took some pictures that I'm stealing off of her blog! We went to the SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE tour and it was so amazing. I'm obsessed with that show, so when I found out that they were coming to Utah, I knew I had to go! We seriously had so much fun. I was screaming and standing up for all of my favorites. It was just so cool to see it live! We had such a fun night! I'm more obsessed now than ever.
